Questions & Answers
- How long have you been in Real Estate and with what agency??
Faye started selling residential real estate 3 years ago with Re/Max Equity Group.
- What do you like most about being in Real Estate?
A career in real estate has provided an opportunity to use business skills including working diligently for her clients. I’ve been a business owner for years. Buying and Selling homes sparks life into all of us because it is usually our most expensive expenditure and we want to make certain we are making the best decision, not just for today but for 5-10 years down the road. I’m always honored to work with such great people.
- As a Real Estate Agent, do you have any forecasts for our Portland area market?
The Portland market has lagged behind the national housing market. I project we will see an ongoing decline in the cost of homes through 2009 with a pointed recovery in the spring of 2010.
- How long have you worked with Mary/Northwest Staging & Redesign (NWS)? Mary DeBella was recommended to me by Ruth Canutt, from Re/Max. Mary’s expertise has enhanced numerous homes beginning 3 years ago. It is amazing how a home can be transformed from average to stunning in a few short hours with Mary’s expertise.
- Has Home Staging helped you sell your properties? How?
I think of one particular home in which Mary restaged a person’s home, reduced items, moved furniture, defined areas and the home sold the following day at the broker’s open when a Buyer also walked in.
- Has NWS provided any Redesign services for you (using client’s existing furnishings in order to prepare a house for sale)? How was that experience for you and/or your client?
In the example above, Mary was given the trust by the clients which proved itself in a quick sale…the client was enthralled and is now a Mary devotee.
- Would you use NWS for future listings?
Some homes have spaces that are not defined. Staging gives the Buyer an understanding or vision of how the area/home can be used.
- How can your future clients contact you?

Yes We Can

The times are changing. The leaves are turning beautiful colors; the economy is on a roller coaster ride; and new leadership is emerging in the White House. The real estate and home staging industries have certainly experienced their fair share of change too - property values changing; lending practices changing; seller’s timeline’s changing; and buyer’s expectations are changing. As I sit back and observe all this, I am reminded that change is inevitable – but change can only start when someone sees the next step and is willing to take the risk.

Northwest Staging & Redesign (NWS) has been privileged to be on the leading edge of our industry in the Portland metropolitan area. Now when someone asks me “What do you do for a living? And I explain how I help put money in the pockets of homeowners, agents, and builders by professionally staging their homes for sale – their response is – “Oh yes! I know what that is!” People “get it” –because the word is out now. But more importantly, there is an acknowledgment that our services are extremely valuable and provide beautiful results. However in today’s change-filled environment, it’s not enough to simply know that Staging works, or that the results are beautiful, rather what is most important is that our client’s needs are met.
Our clients want to know if we can show that the investment of staging their homes/listings is worth the investment. Our clients need assurance that we be flexible with them and work within their budget constraints. Our clients want to know if we can help them be more comfortable in their current home should they choose not to sell at all. Our clients ask us if we can provide proof of our excellent work. Our clients wonder how we can compare with the flood of “newbie stagers” in the market. The bottom line is… our clients want to know if we really can help solve their problem. As I shamelessly borrow a most popular phrase - our answer to these questions is a resounding… “YES WE CAN”.
As we launch our inaugural newsletter, we at Northwest Staging & Redesign want to introduce ourselves as your local resource. As the world experiences the many changes around us, we want to assure you, our readers, that we are willing to ride the roller coaster with you, to stay focused on the proven results, to take the risk and find creative solutions to your problems, and to provide you with the absolute best Staging and Redesign services around.

When you have an odd angle in a room – don’t try to ignore it. Use it to your advantage. Place your furniture either parallel or perpendicular to it for that true designer look!

What Inspires You?

Is it watching athletes run a 26 mile marathon?
Is it learning about the boy who lost his leg to a land mine receive much needed medical assistance? Is it envy at seeing your neighbor add that new landscape feature that you always wanted to? Motivational expert, Frank Tibolt said “We should be taught not to wait for inspiration to start a thing. Action always generates inspiration. Inspiration seldom generates action.” It makes sense that it is a combination of action AND inspiration that motivates us toward accomplishment.
